Get more information and RSVP now: http://www.qaeptsa.org/auction.html Thank you for supporting QAE! Here are some helpful resources on talking with elementary children about death and/or suicide:
From the Psychology Today article: "Our thoughts and feelings come from our brain, and sometimes a person’s brain can get very sick – the sickness can cause a person to feel very badly inside. It also makes a person’s thoughts get all jumbled and mixed up, so sometimes they can’t think clearly. Some people can’t think of any other way of stopping the hurt they feel inside. They don’t understand that they don’t have to feel that way, that they can get help. What's instructive about thinking about talking to children about death, and about suicide deaths in particular, is that so much of what I might tell my child is probably what I should keep in mind when talking with adults, too.
Can you name all of the Kardashians? Is an avocado a fruit or vegetable? What's the elevation of Queen Anne Hill? If you know the answer to these, or many other random questions, QAE needs you!
The Targy’s Queen Anne School Trivia Battle is back and $500 for our school is at stake! We’re putting together a team of 6 QAE parents/teachers that will battle parents/teachers from other Queen Anne Schools (John Hay, Coe, McClure, Little Friends & St. Anne) for intellectually superior bragging rights and to take home the grand prize!
Contact the PTSA at [email protected] if you're interested in taking part or just want to hang that evening. You can now RSVP to Impact Their World, the 2018 edition of QAE's annual auction. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year which supports our school's unique approach to learning! The money raised helps fund our reading and math specialists, our counselor, our Social-Emotional Learning curriculum and much more.
Plus, it's going to be a ton of fun. See you there! RSVP now! As we plan for next year’s move to John Marshall, Principal Roy has been working with SPS to plan for our transportation needs. Here are her recent updates:
SPS can provide both route pick up/drop off and central-location pick up/drop off.
