Please find more information and application here - BEX IV Levy - SDAT Application Expert on gender diversity, Aidan Key, will lead a dynamic discussion to help parents understand gender nonconformity and transgender identification in kids. He will also address ways to discuss these topics with kids, benefits experienced by children in relation to these topics. This frank and open discussion will leave plenty of room for questions, including ones about bathroom sharing, sleepovers, faith, etc. Please join us for this very special event, for parents to broaden their education on these issues, learn how we can support others, and walk away with the message that is beneficial to everyone - how we can fully embrace and love our kids for who they are. SPS Admissions Fair: The first SPS Admissions Fair, with a focus on Option Schools, will be held Saturday January 30, 2016 from 10am-2pm at Mercer Middle School (1600 S Columbian Way). If you would like to help out at the QAE information table, please email Amy Jessee at [email protected]. The Advanced Learning office will notify families (who referred a child by the Oct. 8 deadline) via email about a child’s eligibility as scores are received and processed, late January through February. Families who haven’t received an eligibility email by Feb. 29 should contact Advanced Learning at [email protected] with the subject line “Eligibility Letter.”

Thank you, QAE PTSA Hiring Committee Due to the $694.9 million BEX IV Capital Levy levy, Queen Anne Elementary is scheduled to receive upgrades that include an eight classroom and gymnasium addition. The new building addition is scheduled to open on the Queen Anne campus in September, 2019. Together with architects and our community, we have the opportunity to envision how this new building will be integrated into our existing Queen Anne campus. SPS Finance Presentation "Understanding the School Budget", January 25, 6:00pm-8:00pm
The Seattle Public Schools Finance team is excited to present an evening dedicated to understanding the school budget process. They'll share helpful information such as when the 2016-17 school planning dates occur, an overview of the budgeting process and how funding is determined and schools are staffed, and information regarding class sizes and the process for parent involvement. The event will be Monday, January 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the auditorium of the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence (JSCEE). More information is available on the SPS website. WSPTA Focus Day, Wednesday, February 3 If we ever hope to see full funding of basic education and address our other shared WSPTA legislative priorities, legislators need to see and hear from us. Please join the collective voices of PTA members from across the state on Wednesday, February 3 in Olympia. Rally on the steps at noon and meet with your legislators. Last year, PTA members from Seattle turned out to Focus Day in record numbers, and we had a big impact. Visit the event registration page to register to attend Focus Day 2016 and get more details.
